“ALL THINGS WORK
TOGETHER FOR GOOD...”
(ROMANS 8:28)
I) What This Does & Doesn’t Mean:
A) One won’t have troubles in life (2 Tim 3:10-13).
B) Everything will turn out fine (Eccl 9:11).
C) In spite of everything we go through, God will cause
good to result.
SERMON NOTE
One of the historically
inescapable challenges of
living godly in an ungodly
world—has been the presence
of trials. We must face trials
and tribulations. But we are
never alone (Heb 13:5-6). God
will cause His people to
succeed.
II) Two Major & Vital Things Must First Take Place
A) One must be called.
1) This necessitates that one be onboard with
God’s purpose (Jonah 1-4).
2) One must be stirred and driven by genuine divinely
revealed knowledge (Col 2:18-19).

B) One must love the Lord (John 14:15)
1) My love for the Lord must be the foundation of my
relationship with Him.
III) Look To Examples
A) Abraham:
1) Left home to pursue God’s purpose (Gen 12; Heb 11:8-10).
2) Faced dangers with courageous faith (Gen 14).
3) Even though he had questions, he never wavered (Gen 15; Rom 4).
4) Proved his love and devotion to God under heart-wrenching
circumstances (Gen 22; Heb 11:17-19).

IV) What About My Calling?
A) Is it Genuine?
1) I must examine myself, to see whether I’m in the
Faith (2 Cor 13:5-8).
2) I must make certain that I am in God’s eternal
plan (Gal 3:24-29).
3) I must be diligent to confirm my calling and
election (2 Pet 1:5-11).
B) Maximize the Christian disciplines!
1) Study.
2) Growth.
3) Love.
4) Faith.
5) Prayer.
6) Holiness.
7) Worship.
8) Gospel sharing.
9) Honor.
V) What About My Love For God?
A) Is my love for God what it should be?
1) Love for God was the most crucial element
of Covenantal relationship with God, under the law of Moses.
2) The greatest of all the Covenantal Commandments was to love
God completely (Deu 6:1-5; Mk 12:28-33).
3) This kind of love for God ensures heavenly favor
(Psa 31:23-24).
4) “This is the love of God, that we keep His
commandments...” (1 Jn 5:3).
